Reiki

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a Japanese healing practice that relieves stress and promotes wellness. It translates as “universal life force energy” and is known by other names such as “chi” or “qi” in Chinese and “prana” in Sanskrit. Stress in our lives can create imbalances and stagnation which makes it difficult for this universal life force energy to flow properly. Reiki activates the relaxation response which helps facilitate the flow of this energy and creates balance and healing from a very deep level.

Following are some of the benefits of Reiki that clients have reported (see the Testimonials page for more client feedback):

Treatment Room #1

Treatment Room #1

  • Increased feelings of calm and relaxation

  • Decreased feelings of stress, fear, and anxiety

  • Increased ability to focus

  • Improved sleep

  • Reduction of symptoms related to physical illness and persistent conditions

  • Heightened sense of self-awareness and connection to self and others

During a Reiki treatment, you will lay fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table. I will place my hands in a series of positions gently on (if agreed to by you) or just above your body. While doing this, I am channeling Reiki energy to you. As this energy flows you may feel a variety of sensations such as tingling, warmth, coldness, vibrational buzzing, and sleepiness (falling asleep is perfectly fine). Or you may feel nothing at all. Rest assured that the Reiki energy is working either way.

Since the intent of Reiki is to promote well-being through the flow of life force energy, allowing yourself to feel relaxed during the session will maximize the benefits. You’re taking this time to give yourself the gift of Reiki so allow yourself to let go of all your worries, Reiki will take care of the rest.
